Café Watercolors Series

This series — watercolor only — began in the late 1980s in Boston, Massachusetts and is still ongoing. It was based of years of sketching and collecting reference material at my favorite café (the Travis Restaurant, now gone) around the corner from my Boston studio. Some of the compositions derive from reference material recorded at cafés during travels in Europe during the 1990s. Like all of my work, the scenes are invented, composited from multiple reference images.
